Rise of the Reds manual TOC The Russian Federation, Russia for short, is one of the five factions in Rise of the Reds. It has been speculated by fans that the ROTR universe and ShockWave universe share the same timeline, this has not been confirmed but there may be enough evidence to confirm it. The Russians in ROTR had long been in economic and political trouble during the Zero Hour campaign, but after the 2020's and power struggles later, Russia has got back on its feet again. ROTR will see the Russians rise again as a world superpower. ==Generals== ===General Zhukov, Tactical Ballistics=== No information has been released about this General, other than his speciality. left ===General Aleksandr, Advanced Weapons=== General Aleksandr utilizes prototype weapons systems developed by the Russian Military and Science institutes. He believes that advanced weapons are the key to successful military operations. The experimental weapons, only recently cleared for use in the field, have been used in several victorious campaigns. General Aleksandr is the only General with access to Russia's most secretive of weapons, however he is more than willing to show them off on the battlefield. left ===General Orlov, Rapid Deployment=== From an early age Orlov has been commended countless times for his achievements in both the academy and on the battlefield. When he was just a recruit, he and a handful of soldiers singlehandedly demolished a heavily fortified base with fast cunning tactics without any support. This has followed him throughout the years. General Orlov uses his lightning fast tactics to quickly overrun and outplay his enemies. His forces are consisted of the best soldiers Russia has to offer, the Spetsnaz and other elite Federation forces. General Orlov's access to the Spetsnaz division along with excellent Helicopter and Armor support gives him the best tools to further implement his tactics on the field. left ==Story== The first two decades of the 21st century have not been kind to Russia. After a series of lack-luster presidencies, Russia continued its tragic march. The economy grew in baby steps, chaos ruled the streets, and many outlying areas were in a state of civil war. To make matters worse, the rise of the GLA in central Asia in the 2010's further destabilized the rickety Russian Federation. In times of trouble, Russians look to a strong leader to restore order. That man was Nikolai Suvorov. With his charisma and populist appeal, Suvorov swept the elections of 2016, gaining an iron grip on both the Duma and the presidency. Overnight, Russia passed from the hands of the doddering old corrupted presidencies and into a new generation of rulers. With Suvorov at the helm, the Republic of Russia would rise once again. During this "expansionism" era many nations took the troubled African nations under their wing, provided humanitarian efforts and invested thousands in potential resources. Eventually Europe held the majority of the continent. From these acquisitions Europe thrived with the resources their African "allies" provided. However, as more of the world powers came to place an influence of their own, the Russians pleaded for help in their fight against the GLA. The ECA pledged to help but in reality did little to help, planning to take that territory as their own, and left them to fight amongst themselves. On December 14, 2033 the Russian Federation, with this plan initiated long ago, invaded the European Union as an act of revenge. ==Military Hardware== Russia possesses many fictional and non-fictional units. A loose grip on reality will ensure unique units and abilities to the heavy weight faction. The faction uses classic Tesla technology sparingly, however, it will be exclusive to General Aleksandr in future versions. ==Tactics== The Russian faction will be heavily based on infantry early game, with the support of BMP-3's and other support units. When higher tiers are unlocked, the Industrial Site can provide upgrades that can develop cheaper methods of constructing Russia's heavy units. These units are purchasable early game but with a high price tag, once upgrades have been purchased Russian tanks become much more cost-efficient. Other upgrades at the Industrial Site include the ERA armor upgrade to decrease the damage done by anti tank weapons and light arms fire, as well the purchase of Arms Suppliers to increase Russian funds. Other tactics include the use of infantry as "cannon fodder" for the tanks supporting them from the back. Russian vehicles will be at high cost, but with the highest firepower than any of the other faction. Purchases must be done to decrease costs, purchase of armor and weapons to make the faction nearly unstoppable, requiring players to outsmart the Russians rather than trying to match their brute strength.
